It’s that time again when we take your

“sweet cherries” and “sour grapes” and

hang them out to dry for everyone to

see.

We know you’ve missed them, so

here are some we have compiled:

A bin of SOUR GRAPES to drivers

who pull U-turns on Main Street in Oliver.

Don’t you know this is a highway?

Next time I’m calling the cops!

Daily witness

A truck load of SOUR GRAPES to AIM

Roads for operating their snowplow at

12:30 in the morning. It woke me up!

Why can’t they plow the roads at 5:30

a.m. when people are getting up?

Sleep worshipper

A huge pail of SWEET CHERRIES to

McKinney Place staff for miraculously

preventing the virus from spreading

to the adjoining hospital. Thank you so

much for your dedication.

Reader

A pail of SOUR GRAPES in the face

to people (including politicians and

government personnel) who travelled

abroad over Christmas. What were you

thinking? Resignations, please.

Dedicated mask wearer

A lunch kit full of SOUR GRAPES to

dog owners who allow their pets to

crap on the elementary school field

without cleaning it up. How would you

like to step in a fresh pile or fall in it

when pushed by a chum? Gross! Just

make sure you turn your face at the last

second.

Observer

A ton of SWEET CHERRIES to Oliver

firefighters like Ash and the rest of the

gang for coming to the aid of people

in crises. These guys (and one gal) are

true guardian angels who risk their

own safety to help others in need.

A fan

A bong full of SOUR GRAPES to municipalities

that continue to green light

cannabis stores like the day turns to

night. Why do we need more marijuana

shops to get high? Is life that unbearable?

If another pot shop opens its

doors I’ll scream.

Cantankerous over cannabis

A pew full of SOUR GRAPES to

churches who continue to defy public

health orders not to gather. Do you

think God would want you to endanger

the lives of parishioners? Church leaders

are not above the law and have no

right to exacerbate this pandemic.

Disgusted

Many SWEET CHERRIES to people

like Brenda Dorosz and Kristen Mason

for helping to raise money for the

Braga family after their tragedy. This is

what makes Osoyoos a caring community

when a crisis hits.

Reader

A load of SWEET CHERRIES to new

businesses opening up in Oliver, such

as Popolo Restaurant (Steve Raye) and

Oliver Feedway by Johnny

Aantjes). It takes guts to open up a

new business during the pandemic, so

thank you.
