An expensive supercar, a 2016 McLaren 570S, was demolished Thursday evening in a single-vehicle accident west of Osoyoos.
Osoyoos RCMP said the vehicle with two male occupants was travelling east on Highway 3 near Richter Pass Road when the driver lost control and went off the road.
“The damage to the McLaren was extensive,” said Sgt. Jason Bayda in a news release. “Early indication is that speed was a factor.”
The 28-year-old driver and 50-year-old passenger, both from the Lower Mainland, received non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.
A used 2016 McLaren 570S sells for around $240,000.
