A fire on 100 Avenue has left one person displaced and destroyed an RV and the attached structure.

Osoyoos Fire Rescue received the call at 3:36 p.m. on Feb. 29 responding with three engines, one rescue truck and command unit.

Crews quickly got to work on the wind-driven fire to protect a neighbouring home that was at “significant risk.”

“Crews got a good knock down on the fire, bringing it under control. This structure is unfortunately a total loss with the occupant displaced as a result of this fire,” Osoyoos Fire Department posted on Facebook. “We thank our partners at Emergency Social Services (ESS), that responded to the scene and helped this home owner with emergency accommodation,”

Fire Chief Dave McMahon commended Osoyoos Firefighters for their effective actions in keeping this fire contained to the one site under difficult conditions.
