I am a retired hospital employee and it concerns me that my hard earned dollars are being used to subsidize an industry that needs to be closed down as it does nothing but destroy this planet.

Fracking is causing earthquakes and leakage into potable water supplies which are already becoming more and more scarce. What do we drink when that runs out?

The oil that is being shipped across the land is polluting our land (which makes it unusable) and our rivers which is killing our fish. As well, that which is being shipped across our ocean is polluting those waters, destroying kelp beds, coral reefs, fish and marine mammals. Not just by polluting the waters they all live in, but by the ships themselves which are killing our larger marine mammals by colliding with them as well as the discharge of effluent into the water, adding to the death of the planet.

This is totally unacceptable and needs to be stopped. Other sources of energy need to be found that don’t destroy this planet, or the flora and fauna we have come to depend upon, that is reliant on what this planet his to offer.
