Interclub bonspiel a hit
The Eastlink Curling Centre was the site for the 11th annual interclub bonspiel, pitting eight rinks from Oliver against eight visiting rinks from the International Curling Club in Osoyoosj on December 2-4.
Oliver rinks fared very well, with the Gary Guraliuk rink taking first place overall with 25 out of a maximum 30 points scored. Gary’s lead was Barb Barley, second was Wayne Danbrook and third Murray Naugler.
Gary said, “Barb played exceptionally well, the whole team made shots when we had to and I’m so proud of my rink.”
Finishing in second place for the Oliver contingent was the Ross Jewell rink, with Randy Gushulak at lead, Ken Powell at second and third Fernando Anjos.
The Gerry Short rink gave a credible performance in placing first for Osoyoos, and Jerry Chamberlain’s rink came second. Most important of all, everyone enjoyed the event and Osoyoos is looking forward to hosting the return engagement next year.
Hornets move up

Aside from the Hornets, #7 Westsyde of Kamloops, #9 GW Graham of Chilliwack and #10 Fulton of Vernon were all entered.
The 53rd annual Okana Qen was a big success as the Hornets reached the finals for the second consecutive year. Unfortunately, the Hornets faced a very tough opponent in Mt. Boucherie, which is a solid AAAA school.

In the semi finals the Hornets faced Fulton of Vernon.

To all the alumni, we are hosting an alumni day on Saturday, Dec. 21. Activities start at 1:30 with drop-in volleyball. At 2:30 the seniors will play a competitive match.
The basketball portion of the day starts at 4 pm with a drop-in seniors vs alumni girls game, followed by an old-timers game at 5 pm.
At 6:30 pm the senior boys will play graduates from the past five years.
Come out and enjoy the day; it will be great to see the new school and have a laugh or two reminiscing about old times.
