The Town of Oliver is proud to announce the winners of the 10th annual Spirit of Oliver volunteer recognition awards.
The individual youth member award goes to Kenzie Harrington, while the individual adult award goes to Yvonne Moore.
The Oliver Food Bank has won the outstanding community group award.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. The time volunteering must be valued but we can never put a value on that time,” said Mayor Hovanes.
The Town of Oliver extends a heart-felt thank you to its community volunteers who donate their time, skill and experience to support local organizations, businesses and not-for-profit endeavours.
Many groups are reliant on volunteers to meet their fundraising goals, deadlines and event staffing requirements. Their success is dependent on these volunteers.
These individuals and groups give their own free time to fundraise, improve health, support local business, and provide positive experiences for residents and visitors.
The Spirit of Oliver awards take place at Frank Venables Theatre on Sunday, April 12 from 3-4 p.m. The awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m.
