The Oliver Community Centre was filled with pride and excitement that accompanies the impending end of one thing and the beginning of something new at SOSS’s 2013 awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 26.
The strength of the senior class was evident as their teachers handed out more than 100 awards and bursaries. The top prize, the Senior Academic Cup, was awarded to Anmol Dhaliwal, who also took home one of the $2,500 Francis Family (FF) scholarships. The second FF scholarship went home with Lovneet Brar.
Other hefty scholarships (between $1,500 to $2,500) included the South Okanagan Health Care Auxilliary Bursary, the SD 53 Scholarship and the Charlotte Campbell Memorial Bursary.
They went to Ben McCarthy, Gennady McCracken, Anmol Dhaliwal, Ben Nazaroff, Mallory Abbie and Courtney Ruddiman .
