South Okanagan General Hospital’s emergency department will shut down temporarily on Friday evening until Saturday morning due to what Interior Health says is “limited physician availability”.
Emergency services will be unavailable from 9 p.m. on Friday, July 5 to Saturday, 7 a.m. All other inpatient services will continue as normal at South Okanagan General Hospital (SOGH).
People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
