Seven search and rescue dogs converged on Anarchist Mountain June 30 to July 1 to work hard and play hard.
That was the prime objective of Oliver Osoyoos Search and Rescue that hosted a training seminar for dog handlers from the B.C. Search Dog Association.
Local search dog Kaya invited all of her friends to the mountain for some serious training and some serious fun.
Teams included North Shore Rescue, Kaslo Search and Rescue, Rossland Search and Rescue, Campbell River Search and Rescue, Nelson Search and Rescue, and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue.
As these dogs and their handlers can be called upon to assist SAR teams anywhere in the province, training in terrain that is not found in their home region is ideal.
