Santa Claus and other important people will be at the Sun Bowl Arena during a family skating event on Dec. 20.
Rockin’ with Santa is a free event sponsored by the Town of Osoyoos, which runs from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20.
There will be two turkey raffle draws, games, crafts cookie decorating and other activities, said Tamara Morgan, community programmer with the town’s community services.
Others expected to be there include several members of the Osoyoos Coyotes and the Osoyoos Royalty, as well as some Osoyoos Secondary School graduating students, who will be helping out, said Morgan. A snowman and elf are also expected to show up.
The event is a family skate and no hockey sticks are allowed.
Morgan doesn’t expect Santa to don skates.
“He’s more than welcome to, but he’s quite comfortable not skating,” she said. “We don’t want to hurt the poor guy.”
All ages are welcome at the event.
“It’s just a fun time to come out and skate with the family,” said Morgan.
