With Okanagan Sockeye entering the Okanagan River to spawn in mid-September, the Town of Osoyoos is reminding anglers about the closure of Sockeye salmon fishing in Osoyoos Lake in September.
Effective one hour after sunset on Sept. 7, 2020 Sockeye salmon fishing is closed in Osoyoos Lake.
The Osoyoos fishery opened in July allowing licensed anglers to keep up to two Sockeye a day.
As well, there is no fishing for anadromous (migrating) Salmon in Skaha Lake. Kokanee and Sockeye are present in Skaha Lake, which vary in size.
