The new Safe Boating Station which was originally pitched by RCMP Sgt. Jason Bayda and taken on as a community project by the Rotary Club of Osoyoos is progressing with volunteers working hard to get it up and running.
Alexander Lopez, the local artist hailing from Guatemala who has done a number of murals around town lent his creative expression to the station with a map of Osoyoos Lake.
The station will provide safe boating information including local hazards that tourists may not be aware of, as well as free lifejacket loans to anyone who needs them.
The Safe Boating Station is the result of charitable donations from various community businesses and organizations including the Times Chronicle.
