Dear Editor:
We want to extend sincere thanks to all involved in the recent tree dedication for our Mom (Shirley Rowbotham).
Mom loved Osoyoos and its people and the Pioneer Walkway was her way of demonstrating that love.
It is wonderful to see this legacy still being enjoyed and appreciated by residents and visitors.
A huge thank you to Doreen Janko and Joanne Mepham and Mom’s other ‘sisters’ with Osoyoos’ Soroptomists Club.
We would also like to thank Ron Doucette and the town’s public works crew. We would also like to thank the Jensens from South Okanagan Concrete, welder Orly Felman and especially Carol Boan, who was Mom’s dear friend and co-conspirator.
Thanks also to Mayor Stu Wells for his kind words at the dedication.
Mom had vision, passion and a willingness to take on challenges and make things happen.
But it wouldn’t have happened at all without the hard work of so many other volunteers and support from those generous businesses and individuals whose chequebooks always came out when Mom asked for help.
We know Mom would be so happy to see the continuing improvements that are being done and planned for this community attraction.
Thank you Osoyoos, from Shirley’s children. We will always appreciate what this community has done for our mother.
