Oliver RCMP report a quiet Christmas/New Years with some domestic and impaired driving investigations but nothing out of the ordinary.

On Christmas a female driver was issued a four month driving prohibition with her uninsured vehicle towed, and license plates seized.

Also on Christmas a female driver was found driving impaired and was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and a 30 day vehicle impound.

According to Oliver RCMP the driver was “very intoxicated and uncooperative”.

The driver spent the night in a cell at the local detachment to sober up and was released the next morning.

The sexual assault file involving a well known but unspecified local wine personality who is alleged to have sexually assaulted a migrant worker from Mexico is proceeding.

On a positive note the Oliver RCMP recovered a stolen three wheel bicycle on Dec. 20.

The elderly woman who owns the bike was said to be “super happy” to get it back as that is how she gets her groceries.

The bike was located on a property on School Ave. that is well known to the police and the community.
