Do you own a Ford F-Series truck? Don’t forget to double check that it’s locked.
Police in the South Okanagan are notifying the public about an increase in the theft of Ford F-Series trucks.
“Ford F-Series style of truck thefts have increased significantly over the past month, in both the South Okanagan and Kelowna,” Cst. James Grandy said.
Between January 28 and February, RCMP have been informed of 17 thefts or attempted thefts of these types of trucks.
In the Kelowna area, there have been 25 Ford F-Series thefts since January 8, and six attempted thefts.
“These types of vehicles have typically always been a target for vehicle thieves,” Grandy said. “However, recently we’ve seen a significant increase. We’re hoping that by advising people who may own such a vehicle, they can take extra precautions when securing them.”
