Osoyoos RCMP and BC Coroner’s Service are investigating after a body was found in Osoyoos, but suspect no criminal action at this time.
Osoyoos RCMP were called to a vacant lot at the end of Cottonwood Drive on April 30 around 10 a.m. after a person walking by came across an elderly deceased man.
Investigators with both the RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service attended to examine the scene Thursday.
“Criminality is not suspected in the man’s death,” said Sgt Jason Bayda, media relations officer for the South Okanagan RCMP.
The BC Coroners Service is also investigating the man’s sudden death, in an effort to determine how, where, when and by what means he died.
Due to the privacy of the deceased, and as per the Coroners Act, name and identification will not be released by officials.
