Osoyoos residents will get a chance to sit down with an RCMP officer over coffee on Monday.
The Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional RCMP Detachment is organizing a “Coffee with a Cop” event on Monday, Sept. 17 at the McDonald’s Restaurant in Osoyoos. The coffee runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
Sgt. Jason Bayda, the commanding officer of the Osoyoos RCMP detachment is expected to attend, said Cst. James Grandy, media relations officer with Penticton RCMP. Management and members from both Osoyoos and Oliver may also attend, said Grandy, adding that the superintendent and management from Penticton will also be present.
“This is to be an informal event where people can simply come and go,” said Grandy, adding that they may speak to the RCMP members and ask questions.
“This is a great opportunity for South Okanagan residents to connect with their local RCMP officers,” he added, noting the events are popular.
