The Oliver RCMP is seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman believed to be involved in shoplifting and assault.

On March 17 police received a report of a shoplifter at a business in the 5000 block of Main Street. The woman allegedly entered the store and tried to leave with unpaid merchandise, according to the RCMP.

“Upon the woman being approached by a store employee, the woman dropped the items and assaulted the employee before leaving,” said Cpl. James Grandy.

The RCMP is hoping someone in the community is able to identify the woman who was captured on video surveillance.

The suspect is described as a female (25 to 35 years old) with long dark hair. She was wearing a black hoodie with yellow lettering and black leggings with black/orange shoes.

Anyone who knows the woman’s identity is asked to call the Oliver RCMP at 250-498-3422.
