A disturbing incident has the Oliver RCMP looking for an older male who reportedly followed a young girl through town Thursday night.
At 7 p.m. Oliver RCMP were called to assist a teenage girl who felt uncomfortable with the unwanted advances of an older man while she was shopping at the NoFrills store. Police report the same behaviour occurred outside the supermarket while she was walking.
The suspect is described as a dark tanned white male with a beard and white hair. He was wearing a yellow collared shirt and beige shorts. The man had a thick build and spoke English with no accent. He was driving a grey car at the time.
Oliver RCMP Sgt. Don Wrigglesworth said police did not locate the man to speak with him.
The female was driven home by police.
Wrigglesworth said video surveillance from local businesses is being reviewed to help in the investigation.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the RCMP at 250-498-3422.
