Fraudster arrested
A man with a history of fraud appeared in Penticton court on Monday.
Oliver RCMP Sgt. Ken Harrington said William Simpson has a significant history of fraud that goes back a number of years
“In this instance he bilked one of our older residents out of $1,000 and attempted to cash a ministry cheque for $250.”
Harrington said Simpson also defrauded a local cab driver for approximately $250.

Pit bull stolen from pound
Osoyoos RCMP received a report that a vicious dog had been stolen from the Town’s dog impound.
The pitbull had been in the pound as a result of attacking other dogs and had attacked and killed another dog while inside the pound. Police say the dog had been locked in a cage, which was pried open during the theft.

Grow-op discovered
Osoyoos RCMP conducted an ATV patrol on Anarchist Mountain August 16 and dismantled an outdoor marijuana grow operation on Crown Land. A large number of mature plants were seized.
