Thief takes wallet
On October 30 an Oliver resident reported the theft of a wallet from the front seat of her car while in the parking lot near The Bargain Shop.
The wallet is described as a woman’s animal print clutch and contained the owner’s BC driver’s licence, CARE and SIN card, assorted debit and credit cards, as well as approximately $60 in cash.
Any witnesses to this crime of opportunity should contact the Oliver RCMP detachment at 250-498-3422, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Diesel fuel stolen
On October 31 an Oliver resident reported that at some point between October 30 and October 31, some unknown person(s) stole approximately 200 litres of diesel fuel from his spare fuel tank.
The truck had been parked on Station Street above Lions Park, and considering the volume of fuel that was stolen and the clean nature of the theft, police believe this was targeted by persons prepared to steal the fuel.
Fireworks seized
Although Halloween night created very few complaints, on-duty police did seize fireworks as a result of six separate contacts. No charges were laid as a result of these seizures.
