Oliver RCMP issued a violation ticket to a motorist on Jan. 13 after a Toyota Tundra was found upside down on Road 19 south of town.
Police report they received a call at 5:45 p.m. for a single-vehicle collision in front of a residence. Two people reportedly extricated themselves from the vehicle and said they were not injured.
Police say the vehicle landed in the front yard, which was approximately three metres (10 feet) below the road.
The report states the Tundra was travelling westbound when it veered off the road to the right.
Police say the driver and passenger were no longer on scene when they arrived, but the registered owner was later found. The driver admitted that he had been operating the vehicle when the road “caught him off guard” in the dark and he went over the edge.
Police state the driver did not show any indication of impairment by drug or alcohol.
A violation ticket was issued.
