Oliver firefighters responded to 6516 Lakeside Drive on Tuesday afternoon to extinguish a fire in a plugged chimney.
Black smoke was billowing out of the chimney which was heavily plugged with creosote, said fire department spokesman Rob Graham.
He said firefighters had to use a pike pole to break up the blockage. They also utilized a “chimney bomb” (extinguishing powder in a plastic bag) to suppress the fire.
No serious damage or injuries were reported.
