Osoyoos Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to a report of a car on fire on Tuesday, Apr. 1 at 9:44 p.m. at Cottonwood and Main Street.
Upon arrival of the first fire truck, firefighters came to a single semi truck and flatbed trailer that had overheated brakes and set the tires on fire. Explosions were heard across Osoyoos as the tires and airbags exploded due to the fire.

The OFR said that firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire on the single set. Crews then assisted the semi truck to a safe location.
Osoyoos Fire Rescue responded with three trucks and 10 personnel to the emergency call. Crews cleared the scene and were back in service by 11:30 p.m.
