The Osoyoos Times is now providing more extensive television listings through its website.
Readers can access the listings by going to www.osoyoostimes.com and selecting the Osoyoos Times TV Listings tab on the blue bar at the top of the page.
Readers can now select the listings for the cable or satellite service they subscribe to: Eastlink, Eastlink Digital, Bell TV, Shaw Direct (advanced) and Shaw Direct Classic.
“With the proliferation of digital channels today, it’s become impossible to list them all in our print edition,” said Osoyoos Times General Manager Steve Ceron. “The web version allows readers to see listings for hundreds of digital specialty channels.”
Readers can click on a program’s name to see a description of the program. Some of the listings provide details of guests on a show or plot summaries.
Readers interested in a particular kind of programming can choose from such options as sports, movies or talk to see listings of just the programs in that category.
Choosing sports, for example, provides a listing of sports programs throughout the day with information about times, channels and descriptions of the event.
Readers have the option to view the program grid for programs currently on the air or about to start, or they can choose a different date and time to plan ahead.
Choosing the “Next Channels” tab at the bottom of the listings allows readers to scroll through hundreds of channels.
The print edition of the Osoyoos Times will continue to provide the selected listings for Eastlink Cable that have been provided in the past.
“Our website allows us to provide readers with enhanced content that we can’t put into the paper because of space limitations,” said Ceron. “We look forward to providing readers with more enhanced content through the web while maintaining a high-quality print publication.”
