The time has come for more busy weekends, again, for Miss Osoyoos Emma Fernandes, Princess Tianna Morgan and myself, Princess Bailey Toepfer.
On March 11th, we were invited to take part in the opening ceremonies of the Atom Fiesta Hockey Tournament.
I was unable to attend, but was told the dignitaries were escorted onto the ice by a piper.
It was nice to have the Oliver Ambassadors take part in this event, as well as the local South Okanagan Minor Hockey Association atom team that is made up of players from both Osoyoos and Oliver.
Everyone stood as teams from all around the the Okanagan Valley and many other parts of the B.C., and even some from the United States, were introduced.
After the national anthems, everyone was piped off the ice, again.
On behalf of the Osoyoos Royalty, I would like to thank the organizers of the tournament for asking us to attend this event. We like to give our support to the local and visiting teams.
On March 26th, Queen Emma, Princess Tianna and I helped at the Easter Eggstravaganza events at the town square in Osoyoos.
We joined the candidates of the 2016 Osoyoos Royalty program, working at the face-painting station, as well as the fish pond and target throw.
The Reigning Royalty team was also asked to go to the microphone, to join singer Mat Duffus to sing a few songs.
We enjoyed seeing all of the happy faces and handing out bunnies to the winners of the dance contests. It was so difficult to pick from all of the great dancers.
With a busy schedule coming up, we are excited. More travel is coming before our year is finished.
On behalf of all of us in the Osoyoos Royalty program, we hope everyone has a happy spring and we look forward to meeting many of you at some of the upcoming community events in and around Osoyoos.
