Osoyoos fruit grower and packer Fernandes Farms has received an award from a major grocery chain.

The Loblaw Companies Ltd. Vendor Development Partnership Award is awarded to a supplier that shows leadership in the produce industry for food safety, quality, corporate social responsibility and excellence in customer service.

The award was presented to Tom Fernandes at Loblaw’s annual assembly of more than 100 local B.C. growers held in Vancouver on April 1.

Fernandes Farms is a second-generation, family-owned business that has been operating for more than 50 years.

It has been a premium partner of Loblaw for 20 years. Fernandes Farms grows apricots, nectarines, cherries, apples and pears.
