An Osoyoos man, accused of driving without a license, faces charges following a recent collision with an ambulance.

Osoyoos RCMP said they were called to the head-on collision around 7 p.m. on March 10 at 128th Avenue and Highway 97 north of Osoyoos.

The ambulance did not have any patients on board, but both paramedics were taken to hospital in Oliver with minor injuries and later released.

The accused was travelling northbound in a Chevrolet Malibu and failed to negotiate a curve due to speed, crossing the centre line.

The BC Ambulance was travelling southbound from Oliver.

The driver of the Malibu, aged 21, from Osoyoos, and one passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

He is charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with driving without due care and driving without a license.

RCMP said both vehicles sustained considerable damage.
