The Oliver Community Theatre Society is asking residents to vote yes on election day Nov. 15, and support a referendum to help cover the operating costs at the Frank Venables Theatre.
On Tuesday afternoon, Venables took the spotlight when North by Northwest radio host Sheryl Mackay brought her CBC radio show to Oliver.
A majority of the seats were filled as local residents listened to Mackay’s humour, and many local talented musicians, who were on stage to entertain those in the live audience, and those listening to CBC radio.
As for the referendum, a typical Oliver household would pay an additional $18 in property taxes should the referendum receive a yes vote.
