A grass fire that was climbing a hill towards a home on Road 13 late this morning is now extinguished due to the quick response from the Oliver Fire Department.

Fire crews were called to a brush fire half way up Road 13 at approximately 11:30 a.m. Once on scene, first responders observed the blaze climbing a hill towards a residence.

A crew managed to quickly navigate the hill  and stop the flames from spreading. No structures were impacted and no injuries were reported.

Fire department spokesman Rob Graham said it appears that someone was doing some landscaping/weed control with a trimmer when they hit a rock and sparked a fire.
