The Downtown Advisory Committee in Oliver has given the thumbs up to a new town clock on Main Street.
Members approved the motion during a meeting on Nov. 18 and recommended that Town staff investigate the Triangle Park location for power and installation feasibility.
At the meeting, Clive MacMillan provided an update on the design of the clock, which includes: black metal clock, illuminated four faces, no chimes, embossed lettering, 24-inch face, 14.5 feet tall with the preferred location in Triangle Park.
The cost of the clock is $21,000 plus taxes and crating fees. It is estimated the total will be $25,000 once all installation costs are considered.
A fundraising group will meet following town council’s approval of the location.

A town clock similar to this design is being considered for Oliver.
