In Memoriam

William (Bill) Horner was born in Oakville, Ontario in September 1963, the third child of Jack and Betty. He passed away in Osoyoos, BC on June 29, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Bill spent his childhood in Ontario and moved to the Okanagan with his mom and siblings in the early 1980’s. He often said the Okanagan was paradise. In 1984 he became employed at Sagebrush Lodge and loved working with the staff and caring for the residents. His passion truly was caring for those with dementia. Sadly, his poor health forced his early retirement in 2001. Bill loved to travel and made many trips around British Columbia and to the United States.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his devoted wife, Joan, son Will and family, daughter Chelsea; brother Ralph and sister in-law Sally and their family; brother Greg and sister in-law Jan and their family; sister Marie and niece Debbie in Scotland; sister Margaret and her family; father in-law Alec; sister in-law Sandy and brother in-law Sherman and their family; as well as numerous other family and friends. We will miss his quick wit and willingness to help as best he could. He was predeceased by his father Jack, mother Betty, step father Jack and his grandparents Ralph and Daisy.  His mother-in-law Darlene passed away after Bill in December 2021.

A private family celebration of life and interment at Osoyoos Lakeside Cemetery has taken place.
