William (Bill) Leslie Robert Grant

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Bill (William) Grant on January 6, 2020 at the age of 80 years. He passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth (Kuhling) Grant; brother, Garry; sister, Ruby and niece, Barb.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Lilian; daughter, Heather (Mike); son, Mike (Michelle); sisters, Shirley (George) and Marlene; nieces, Deb, Denise (Bill), Janice (Dave), Darla (Jeff), Donna (Dave), Shawna; nephews, Warren (Jessie), Glen (Norma), and Jay; granddaughters, Ashley (Bruce) and Kathleen (Simon); great-granddaughters, Sophie and Olivia as well as many cousins.

Bill was born in Star City, Saskatchewan, and moved to Calgary as a young man; he was employed in the grocery industry, both retail and wholesale, for approximately thirty-eight years. In 1995 he & Lilian retired and moved to Osoyoos. He came out of retirement to work with the public again, which was his passion in life. He worked several years at Chevron, and more than fifteen years at Osoyoos Home Hardware.

He and Lilian enjoyed travelling to Mexico, Asia, Costa Rica but their favourite vacation was to the Maritimes.

Bill found enjoyment in old cars, refinishing furniture, and took special pride in his yard, pruning and shaping. Bill was loved for his story-telling with friends and family.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
