Wilhelm (Willy) Schreiner

January 2021

It is with sadness we tell of Willy’s passing.

Born and raised in a small town outside Graz, Austria. Left Austria at the age of 24, travelling alone by ship to eastern Canada. Worked his way across Canada, falling in love with British Columbia, where he married and helped raise his two children Helen and Lincoln.

Worked as a painter on construction sites across British Columbia. His early hobby was endless renovations to
family homes.

Remarried, retired, and moved to Oliver with his wife Helen.

Acquired a passion for fishing later in life, joined by his three grandsons Sean, Mitchell, and Matthew.

Somehow the grandsons always managed to catch the bigger (and most) fish of the day. Had a good life and ticked-off most things on his bucket list.

No service is planned.

He left us knowing it was his time, his final move, this time upwards, with auf wiedersehen (goodbye) and best wishes to his family and friends.
