Vera Elaine Guenther
Vera Guenther passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021, at the age of 90 years.
She will forever be remembered by her daughter, Debra (Tim) Nehring; son, Neil (Gail) Guenther; grandchildren Charmaine Wise, Jesse Vetterl, Juliana Winsor, and Katrina Monteith; great grandchildren, Elijah, Talia, and Levi Wise, Mattias and Emelyn Vetterl, Abbey and Isaiah Winsor, Josephine, Isabelle, and William Monteith; as well as many extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband William, and brother Allan Jacobi.
Vera was steadfastly devoted to her husband William, for over 70 years. She taught her children about God and His word and was diligent in her love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Vera enjoyed numerous trips to the Hawaiian Islands, a trip to the Middle East including Israel, a trip to Europe including going to West Berlin and East Berlin and back again, a trip to the Bahamas as well as a trip to South America all with her beloved husband William. She was a bookkeeper for William’s radio and tv store and a homemaker for her family. Vera was a long-standing member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She thoroughly enjoyed being a choir member and singing in ladies’ trios. She was a very accomplished seamstress and made a lot of her and her daughter’s clothing. She also loved gardening and growing her own food. She spent many hours picking up hazelnuts on her hobby farm (she could out pick the squirrels!).
A special thank you to the staff at Sunnybank nursing home for their great compassion and care.
A Graveside Burial Service was held at the Okanagan Falls Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Cook officiating. Donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Bible Society.
