May we remember and never forget a life so greatly loved, well-lived and will be dearly missed!

Ruby passed away 2 months shy of her 97th birthday, peacefully at her home in Toronto with her son Lance and son-in-law Mario whom she had lived with since 2013.

She is the last of the Bridesville, BC, Patterson family who were the last wagon train to leave Alberta for BC in 1932.

The 6th child, daughter of proud landed immigrants; Bill (aka Southard) Patterson born in the USA, and Jane Anne Ritchie (Patterson) born in the Falkland Islands, UK. Pre-deceased by her 6 siblings; Hazel, Edith, Connie, Ed, Evelyn and Fay; all of them first generation Canadian born.

Ruby’s passing leaves behind her family: daughter Karen and husband Bob, granddaughter Rebecca, great grandchildren Gabriel and Christina, granddaughter Brenda, great grandson Evan, her son Lance and husband Mario. Ruby lived with Lance in Toronto since 1986 (now 36 years).

A donation can be made to the Community Association for Riders with Disabilities, card.ca, a horse program in Toronto which Ruby enjoyed.

A virtual celebration of life is to be announced next year.
