On September 12, 2021, Robert Lemke passed away peacefully in Penticton, British Columbia, at the age of 87 years. Robert was born in Penticton, British Columbia to Walter and Elfriede Lemke, originally of Hamburg, Germany. Robert was predeceased by his son-in-law Neil, and his loving wife of 42 years, Hazel Anne Lemke, in 2004. Robert will be missed and lovingly remembered by his three children – Sonja (John), Wendy (Greg), and Cory (Nicole); six grandchildren – Christine (Jaret), Shannon (Merrick), Kasey (Daniel), Brandon (Leah), Kenna, and Jessica (Landon); four great-grandchildren – Nicolai, Elliot, Veda, and Evelyn; his siblings Doris and Walter, and sister-in-law Dawn.

Robert spent much of his life in Osoyoos, raising his family, and running Osoyoos Transfer with his wife Anne. During his earlier years Robert was a member of the Osoyoos Volunteer Fire Department, and enjoyed curling, golf, and hiking in the nearby mountains. Robert also enjoyed travelling throughout British Columbia and Alberta, as he was deeply appreciative of the beautiful landscapes and wildlife he found within them. One of Robert’s most treasured relationships was with his labrador retriever, Bear. Together they enjoyed many hikes and swims, enjoying each other’s company for over fourteen years.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Robert’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family (and Robert) would be truly appreciative of a donation to the BCSPCA.
