Michelangelo Della Paolera
Angelo, as he was known to his friends and family, passed away suddenly on August 5, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Valorie, his three children Michael (Jenn), Michelle, Mark (Angela) and 6 grandchildren. He was born in Castello D’Alife Italy, one of seven children, and was predeceased by his twin brothers (Tony and Vince) and sister (Marie). His immediate family as well as a niece, nephew and their families live in Canada, while his remaining sisters and many nieces and nephews still reside in Italy. He moved to Canada when he was 20 and worked in construction. He moved to Whitehorse in 1966 where he started his own construction company, met his wife and started his family. The family moved to South Surrey in 1985.
Eventually Angelo and Valorie moved to Osoyoos to retire but always needing to work and be busy, Angelo started his own tile company which he and Valorie ran for another 20 years. Family, work, and the church were the anchors in his life. He was also a volunteer with the International Lions Club for over thirty years. He walked every day and loved to travel, including many trips to Hawaii, Mexico and Italy. He was a loving family man with a heart as big as his personality who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
