On Monday, May 30, 2022, Mrs. Mary “Claire” Murray (nee Flynn) of Oliver passed away peacefully at Moog & Friends Hospice House after a short illness at the age of 83 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill Murray.

Claire will fondly be remembered by her companion Eric; her six children, Elaine, Brian, Kevin, Anne Marie, Tony (Sylvia) and Greg (Cassandra); grandchildren, Richard (Angela), Julie (Kyle), Michael (Kame’e) and Christina; five great-grandchildren as well as many extended family and friends.

Born in Limerick, Ireland, the immediate family permanently moved to British Columbia, Canada in 1978.

During her working years, Claire was a hairdresser at Todd’s in Limerick, Rosewood Manor in Richmond and Dania Home in Burnaby.

She was very involved in her community and volunteered at the Sister’s of Atonement on East Hastings in Vancouver, Richmond Animal Protection Society in Richmond and the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop in Oliver.

Upon moving to Oliver in 2016, she loved sitting on her patio, reading her books, napping in the warm sun and visiting wineries in the Okanagan. She met Eric in 2018 and enjoyed many great adventures travelling together.

Mom, thank you for your unconditional love. You touched so many lives with your kindness and thoughtfulness. We miss you so much and you will forever be in our hearts. May God Bless you and keep you safe.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am, Friday June 10^th, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Oliver, BC followed by a reception in the church lower hall.
