Mart Englesby – Golden Heart, Loved by all

September 25, 1936 -
January 11, 2022

Englesby, Mary passed away peacefully at the South Granville Park Lodge (SGPL), on January 11, 2022, at the age of 85.  Mary is survived and lovingly remembered by her son, Teymur Englesby & Family.  Mary was born in Regina, Saskatchewan. Mary met the love of her life, Ralph Eldon Englesby in 1960. They married and moved to Annapolis, MD.  Ralph and Mary continued eastward, starting their journey over the years, teaching overseas beginning, in Beirut.  In 1986, the family moved to Osoyoos and Ralph retired, briefly, then returned to teaching in Kettle Valley, as President of the KVTA.  In 2000, Ralph retired.  Ralph & Mary were actively involved in Teymur’s athletics; driving Tey and teammates to soccer, basketball, hockey, and baseball games and tournaments.  Mary and Ralph enjoyed hiking in the hills with their Salukis.  Mary was deeply involved with the Osoyoos community, volunteering her time Library & Museum for many years.

Mary took great pleasure in reliving and sharing her memories about the places and friends they visited along the way.  Mary will be fondly remembered for her zest for life, her quick wit and sense of humour, and her love of international food and desserts.  For such a little person, she will be leaving behind a huge void.  She was highly intellectual and loved to read and discuss global politics and economic issues.  She had a great sense of humour, was an incredible cook of international cuisines.  She was caring and humble. She was a dedicated and loving Mother.  A caring woman and an unfailing generosity to everyone who came into her life, many will remember her for her mother’s guiding hand.  Mary will be dearly missed by her son, Teymur.  Teymur dedicates these words to his Loving Mother and Best Friend;

…”Until We Meet Again…”

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile!

If only I could have you back for just a little while

Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do

You always meant so very much and always will do too

The fact that you’re no longer here, will always cause me pain,

But you’re forever in my heart, until we meet again.

We sincerely want to thank the staff at SGPL, especially the nurses, care aids, for the compassionate caring they gave Mary during the years she lived there.
