After a short battle with cancer, Maria Stukel passed away on October 12, 2021 at the age of 84.

Maria is predeceased by her husband Anton Stukel; sister Zalka Lukek; brother Jože Kapš; brother-in-law Tony Zelko; son-in-law Steven Gray and granddaughter Alexia Gray. Maria is survived by her son Tony Stukel; son Jack Stukel (Vlasta) and daughter Marjana Gray. Grandchildren Sammy (Michael), Travis, Cayla, Colette, Sierra, Jakob, Shayleen, Toniesha and Danika. Great-grandchildren Charlie and Logan. Her sisters Tončka Plut, Franja Mihelač, Martina Jesihar, Malči Gorenc, Angelca Korent and Milena Stepan. Sister-in-law Mary Zelko as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Maria had a passion for gardening, she was always so proud of her flowers and her amazing garden. If she wasn’t spending time outside she was in the kitchen creating delicious meals for family, friends and even strangers that soon became close friends. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. We all will miss the heartwarming memories and her comforting laugh and smile.

A Funeral Mass was held at St. Anne Catholic Church on Friday October 15, 2021 followed by interment at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
