
Marguerite Scott
On Sunday October 20,2019, Mrs. Marguerite Scott of Osoyoos, BC passed away in Mariposa Gardens at the age of 97.
She was born in Vancouver, BC on October 28, 1921. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Roy Scott on September 7, 1993, and step-son Bill Scott on January 26, 2015.
Marguerite is survived by her loving daughter Fay Morgan and her daughters Christy (Steve) and Shawna; daughter-in-law Deirdre Scott of Melbourne, Australia, grandchildren Andrew (Vicky) and children, Mathew (Ching), Fiona (David) Hartney and children, and other relatives in the Holmes and Craigie families.
She was a primary school teacher, who taught in many BC communities before meeting Roy and settling in Osoyoos 1948. She was also very involved with the United Church as a teacher, superintendent, choir, organist and prayer groups. She had a soft heart for animals, especially cats, which she took in many strays over the years. She had a deep love for writing poetry, Haynes Point (Swiws Provincial Park), Drivers orchard, friends and all the children she taught over the years – she truly loved them all. In 2009 she was named as one of the Influential Women of the South Okanagan.
By touching so many lives with kindness, she had a lasting impact on this community. She is truly loved.
