On February 11, 2020, Mrs. Margarete Martha Brown died peacefully at McKinney Extended Care after declining health at the age 95 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard ‘Dick’ Brown on January 27, 1992.

Margarete is survived by children, Georgia Brown, Jeffrey Brown and Jackie Marbach (nee Brown) and grandchildren, Darbie and Dante Marbach.

Over the years she spent time as homemaker and part time clerical assistant for Brown Real Estate, Oliver B.C.

Margarete enjoyed trips to Mexico, Hawaii, Cuba and various places in the US (Colorado, California, Arizona, Nevada)

She was active in her community volunteering with the Oliver International Horse Show, Girl Guides and was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oliver and then of Grace Lutheran Church in Osoyoos.

Margaret enjoyed Western riding (horses), was an avid fisher-woman, potter and ceramic artist, avid gardener of roses, cacti, vegetables and garden fruits, golfer and general sports enthusiast (hockey, football, soccer).

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2020 at Grace Lutheran Church, Osoyoos, B.C. with a reception to follow. Urn interment and committal at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery will follow the reception
