Larry Wilson McLeod
March 9, 1943 – February 25, 2021
After a courageous battle with cancer, it is
with deep sadness that we announce the
passing of Larry McLeod of Osoyoos, BC on
February 25th, 2021. Larry is predeceased
by his father Jack, mother Elspeth, brother
Leonard, infant son Johnny and ex wife Marjorie-
even though divorced, Larry and Marj
admirably maintained a special bond for the
sake of their family.
Larry will be missed dearly by his partner Gloria and his children, Janice
(Don), Tracy (Mark), David (Tina). Larry was blessed to have 6 grandchildren
and 4 great grandchildren. In addition, the loss of Larry is being equally
felt by Gloria’s 4 children Rob, Greg, Kristina and Brad and their families. We
would like to sincerely thank them all for always welcoming Larry into their
family as if he were their own.
Larry was born on March 9th, 1943 in Vancouver, BC. He was raised in
Cloverdale. In his twenties he started working as a salesman for Vancouver
Fancy Meats, married Marj and started their family. In the mid seventies
the family moved to Vernon so that Larry could help his dad run McLeod’s
By-Products in Armstrong, BC. They moved back to the coast and he resumed
working for Van Fancy Meats.
Together for over 20 years Larry and Gloria loved their outings together.
They always looked for the road less travelled for the interest it might bring.
Larry loved to find a good restaurant and was always ready to have a good
‘chin wag’ with all of the interesting people that he met along the way. Taking
a detour with the grandkids to get a secret ice cream or hamburger was also
a favourite pastime.
Larry had many interests and hobbies- genealogy, fishing, fly-tying, model
airplanes/trains, camping, woodworking, gardening and visiting the gun
range but the hobby that interested him the most was the hunt for the stuff
needed for that hobby. Near the end, he expressed that he couldn’t go yet
because he had so much more to do.
In lieu of flowers if you wish to make a donation in Larry’s name, the family
suggests the Canadian Cancer Society. Unfortunately, due to Covid a Celebration
of Life will be held at a later date.
Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting

In closing we leave you with a final written message from Larry:
Times and places come and go,
Memories are everlasting!
Till we meet again
“bop bop beebaloop!!”
