Kenneth Edward Arnett
March 19, 1942 – March 20, 2021
After a lengthy battle with
cancer, Kenneth Edward
Arnett passed away on March
20th at South Okanagan
General Hospital. He is survived by his wife,
Wende; his four children, Blain (Kristin), Michael
(Natosha), Tim (Nori), and Alison (Steve); his eight
grandchildren: Nicola, Kevin, Landon, Mikayla,
Keith, Ethan, Riah, and Ava; and three of his siblings:
Mike, Doug, and Irene.
Ken was born in Prince George, BC. After graduating
high school, he moved to Nanaimo. There, he met
Wende, with whom he shared almost 60 wonderful
years. Ken spent his career working for the BC Forest
Service. He and his family lived around the province
at various ranger stations, eventually settling in
Vanderhoof, and later, Castlegar. In both cities, he
served as District Manager.
In retirement, Ken and Wende became dedicated
members of Fairview Mountain Golf Course. At the
course, Ken served as a board member and as club
president, loved a good round of golf with friends, and
enjoyed a cold glass of Stella after a game. Ken also
loved to travel; he and Wende enjoyed many Octobers
in Las Vegas and various vacations with their family.
Additionally, Ken was a great chef who found joy in
sharing delicious meals with the people he loved.
Ken was a kind, thoughtful, and generous man who
gave everything to the people he loved. His greatest
joy came from his family. Ken radiated warmth. We
shall forever miss his wisdom, his humour, and his
brilliant smile. He lives in us always.
The family will hold a celebration of life for Ken in the
near future.
