
Ian Ross
Following an unexpected week of care in the South Okanagan General Hospital, Ian passed away peacefully on Monday December 12th.
Ian was born in Nanaimo, BC on March 20, 1937, his parents lived on Gabriola Island at the time. When Ian was 2 they moved to Cordova Bay, Victoria, BC where he completed his education.
Ian is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Deirdre; three daughters & sons-in-law:
Kelsey & William McLeod of Okanagan Falls, Sondi & Mark Mogan of Oliver, and Kim & Bill Carter of Victoria; sister, Linda Snelling of Victoria; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Amber Boa, Isaac & Ethan of Penticton, William McLeod and Chelsea of OK Falls, children, Kaylee, Liam & Wyatt; Miranda Mogan, Marley & Melody of Oliver; Teya (Ben) and Trevor (Kassidy) Carter of Victoria.
Ian was predeceased by his parents, George & Lillian Ross; in-laws, Rita & Austin Lamb; sister & brother-in-law, Jean & Dennis Whysker; brother-in-law, Keith Snelling and granddaughter, Lindsey Mogan.
Ian’s varied work experience includes B.C. Forestry, CHBC-TV, Grey Sage Wildlife Park, Weyerhaeuser, School District 53, Social Services, Youth With A Mission and Adult & Teen Challenge.
During his life, Ian enjoyed being involved in the Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Dept., Park Drive Church, Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International, B. C. Foster Parents, “For the Least of These: Philippines”, YWAM, Teen Challenge and Vintage Car Club of Canada.
Ian is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by many.
