Helen Ramani
Helen Ramani passed away from cancer March 23rd, 2020 at home. She is survived by her husband, Ken Moore.
Helen Dewick was born in Oliver in 1949 and still close to her mother’s (Woodworth) family. She worked for the BC Buildings Corporation and later in Ottawa for EDS before coming to Sidney, BC.
She married Floyd Beavers and much later, Fulvio Ramani, who predeceased her. She married Ken in 2008 and they were good together to the end. Her friends number into the hundreds because she has always been friendly, energetic and willing to help. She enjoyed bowling, bridge games, hiking, biking, stitch-and-chat, Peninsula Newcomers, volunteering at the Shoal Centre to help with computer problems, singing in a choir (Sweet Adelines group in Ottawa, Via Choralis here), playing ukulele in class and in sing-alongs, participating in her yoga group, editing and helping publish two memoirs and being busy every day as Strata Council president and part-time gardener.
She was comfortable alone, reading, learning and organizing music and playing solitaire. Like a daughter, she kept an eye on her older friends, Alberta and Esme every week and very close, like a sister, to her friend Angela. She is dearly loved and greatly missed, and I, her husband, am so glad I got to tell her every day how beautiful she was.
We’ll have a remembrance get-together in May when the Caronavirus is folding.
