Harvey Leonard Goebel was born May 27th, 1924 in Spruce Grove, Alberta. He was one of thirteen children born to Mary and Matthias Goebel. Harvey passed away October 21, 2019 in Osoyoos, BC with his loving bride of 66 years, Marion, by his side. Harvey was blessed in this life with ten children, who came to bless him further with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and Marion moved from Alberta to Osoyoos BC in 1957, where Harvey, a carpenter by trade, built their family home. Harvey retired at 68 and spent his leisure years tinkering in his shop, where you could often hear him humming away. He had a big sweet tooth and his grandkids have many fond memories of raiding grandpa’s candy and ice cream collections during their frequent visits and summer vacations. Harvey spent his later years in Mariposa in Osoyoos where his wife Marion visited him every day. Harvey is survived by his wife Marion and his children Charlene, Daniel (Donna), Margaret (Egon), Elizabeth (Joe), Peter (Lynn), Georgia (Norman), Marie (Leger), Pauline (Brett), as well as his grandchildren and great grand children. He is sadly predeceased by his brothers and sisters, sons David and Gary, as well as his grandson Phillip. A graveside service will be held on Sunday October 27th at 1pm at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A donation to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. or a charity of your choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
