George Emmerson Morfitt

It is with great sadness that we announce, George Emmerson Morfitt’s sudden passing at his home in Oliver, BC on December 3, 2022. George was 81 years old.

George was born in Killam, AB, lived a rural life with his wife Millie and family in Indus, AB then later moved to BC in 1981.

He was predeceased by Millie, stepson Terry Jones, stepdaughter Ivy Kellner, granddaughter Megan Grant, father George, mother Mabel and stepfather John (Jack) Campbell.

George is survived by stepsons Alan (Bev), Kelly, Billy (Claudette), stepdaughter Jackie (Gary), daughter Gina (Mike), son Duane (Tabatha), sister Phyllis, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nephews.

George was a journeyman electrical mechanic working with various companies on many projects, some overseas, and eventually retiring with Unit Electric Engineering in OK Falls, BC. He was a long-time member of the Legion and Elks; installed as the Elks Grand Exalted Ruler, Oliver BC, Lodge No. 267, in 2006.

George was a great man, well-rounded and loveable. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and travelled many destination vacations over the past few years with his close friend Zofia.

He will always be lovingly remembered for his clever wit and never-ending sense of humor.

A tribute to George will be held in Oliver, BC in the coming months and later an interment in the family plot in Byemoor, AB.
