George Andrew McFee
On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, George Andrew McFee of Oliver passed away peacefully at his home after a short battle with cancer at the age of 86 years.
He was predeceased by his mom, Florence Duck; father, George McFee; sister June Anderson and his beloved wife Joyce McFee.
George will be fondly remembered by his loving family including daughters Linda (Bruce) Phillips, Debbie (Karl) Polack, Darlene (Leonard) LeBlanc, Patricia (Joe) Ford, Sally (Steve) Thompson and Kathy (Don) Brewster; one son Stan (Tracey) Hammond; brother, Russell McFee; sister, Eileen Scott; his dear companion Edith Lucas as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Over the years, George worked as a roofer, a handyman and dabbled in the real estate market. George and his late wife Joyce bought the Lake Motel in Lac La Hache in 1972 which they operated for many years, until they retired.
George loved to travel and in particular, the Oregon coast was a favourite. He also loved to play his guitar and sing. George loved to read western books and we could bet there is not one out there that he has not read.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday December 15, 2021 at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery.
Donations are gratefully accepted to a charity of one’s choice.
